Congratulations to Sheila Sherlock who won the federation round of the Make and Model with her beautiful two piece outfit suitable to wear to an ICA centenary event. Sheila will go on to the national final in An Grianan in March.
Una Ryan, Stephanie Mc Donald and Joan O'Flaherty will represent Wicklow in the Table Quiz final and Jenny Jones federation winner of the Gempack Recipe competition will also go on to the national final in An Grianan.


We wish them all the best of luck.


Sheila also won Best Actress at the recent
One Act Drama Festival in Glenealy.
It was another successful festival for our drama group.
As well as Sheila's Best Actress award, Una Mc Gowran won a Merit Award for her portrayal of Marcie. Margaret Stephens as stage manager won Best Set and Hilda Roche Best Producer
and our production of 'The Allotment' by Gillian Plowman won the overall award for Best Play of the festival making all the hard work and rehearsals well worth while.

Ashford Guild finished off a very successful year
with another win in the Eleanora Gibbon Cup
for a Take Off of a TV show with 2 ads.
The large crowd at the national final in Clasac
the beautiful new regional Comhaltas Centre in Clontarf
thoroughly enjoyed the hilarious take off
of The School Around the Corner
and the ads for Kennedy's Bread and Fairy Liquid.

Joan O'Flaherty, Noleen Hayes, Una Mc Gowran, Mary Doyle,
Elsie Haughton, Marie Togher and Margaret Stephens.

Congratulations to Catherine Carey
winner of the centenary brooch competition.

 

Una Mc Gowran, Joan O'Flaherty, Anna Sinnott,
Stephanie Mc Donald, Sheila Sherlock, Noeleen Hayes,
Patricia Ruttledge and Betty Teahan represented Wicklow at the recent national final of the Baumann Cup for Music and with a massive 95 marks were the winners.
