Irish Countrywomen's Association

ICA (The Irish Countrywomen's Association) is the largest women's organisation in the country. ICA developed out of 'The Society of United Irishwomen' which was founded in1910 under the inspiration
of the co-operative movement.

The objectives of the association are to bring together women in fellowship. And through co-operative effort, to develop and improve the standard of rural and urban life in Ireland; having due regard for our irish culture and to encourage the use of the Irish language in the affairs of Bantracht na Tuaithe.

ICA is non sectarian and non-party political.
ICA lobbies the Government on behalf of the members on social issues; provides information on consumer affairs, education,
rural development and the environment.

A free confidential counselling service for ICA members and their families
is available for only the cost of a local call from any part of the country.
