It was good to get back in September after the summer break.
We took to the floor to learn some line dancing.
Una Mc Gowran was the winner of the competition
for the most appropriate rigout.

We had a great day trip to An Grianan for our summer outing with courses in cookery, jewellery and yoga and of course delicious food and great craic.

We are looking forward to our next daytrip to An Grianan on 13th December.
The courses are Christmas cookery; Creative Christmas gifts;
Glamour Gracefully and Christmas Flowers and Decorations

Our Nollaig na mban outing on 6th January will be to see
Little Women in the Gate Theatre.
Tickets to be paid for at our Christmas dinner in Belair Hotel.

We like to travel and we are hoping to go to Nice and Cote D'Azur in May.
Places are still available so contact us for details.

Our drama group's production of
The Odd Couple (female version) by Neil Simon
was very well received and enjoyed by the audience
at the Glenealy One Act Festival.

Well done to the cast
Theresa Sheekey, Mary Doyle, Sheila Sherlock, Brigid Cahill,
Claire Timmons and Una Mc Gowran;
the stage and backstage people
Elsie Haughton, Joan O'Flaherty and Una Ryan
and the producer Hilda Roche
It was Teresa Sheekey and Brigid Cahill's first timeto tread the boards.
It certainly won't be their last as they both showed great natural talent.
Teresa picked up a merit award as a comedy actress.
Una Mc Gowran won a merit award for her costume
.
Sheila Sherlock won Best Supporting Actress and Claire Timmons won Best Actress.
Congratulations to all.

We are now into our rehearsals for our next production another comedy
'The Final Dress Rehearsal' by Jack Drakes.

We had a great party in Tinakilly House to celebrate the ICA Centenary

One of the highlights of the afternoon was when past member Annie O'Connor recited
a poem she herself had composed about ICA.
At 99 years of age she did this without using any notes.
Sadly Annie has since passed away. Ar dheis De go raibh a hanam

.

Here's to the future of ICA
Hope these little girls will enjoy it as much as we do.

Congratulations and thank you Sheila Sherlock, Una Mc Gowran, Catherine Carey,
Noeleen Hayesand chief planner and organiser Margaret Horne,
for the wonderful Ashford display depicting Mount Usher
in the Tinahely Flower Show. They did us proud.

Ashford Guild has many members very talented in arts and crafts
as can be see from a sample of their work which was on display in the boathouse
during the Wicklow Regatta festival.

Our Craft Group meets every Wednesday morning in Maheramore
from 10.30-12.30
